Modular Home Company Closes Its Doors

KanBuild, Inc., of Osage City, Kansas has suspended operations effective immediately.  The Kansas City Star reports the modular home builder cited the recession, harsh winter, and financing crunch for buyers as contributing to the cessation, which idled 78 employees. Spokesman Quentin Robert said he hopes to reopen in the spring if the company receives enough orders or he can obtain outside funding. Ten years ago, the company had three facilities and nearly 500 employees.
