Modular Emergency Shelter Assembles in Two Minutes

A small, pop-up disaster relief shelter that can be assembled in two minutes is the brainchild of Australian entrepreneur Alastair Pryor, says nydailynews.com, and only costs $150. The foldable, lightweight emergency housing unit consists of a four-walled room with a door, made of heavy, twin-walled plastic, which gives it thermal qualities in heat and cold. MHProNews has been informed the structure is a six-and-a-half square foot cube, sufficient room for two adults and two children. Air vents, which can bring in cool air at the bottom and expel hot air at the top are manually operated. Rooms can be added to the “Compact Shelter” for more space. ##
