Modular Building part of Massachusetts Affordable Housing Program

Governor Deval Patrick took up a shovel to participate in a groundbreaking ceremony for a housing project in Chelsea, Massachusetts, at 44 Gerrish Ave. that will include a new modular unit along with the rehabilitation of the Standard Box building for 41 market rate apartments and five affordable rentals, already 80 percent leased, called Flats@44. Flats@22 is at 22 Gerrish Ave., and it will have 50 units of rental housing including 21 subsidized apartments. As chelsearecord.com informs MHProNews.com, the state’s Housing Development Incentive Plan (HDIP) will provide the Flats@44 with $830,000 in state income tax credits. ##
