This week, MHI met with Representative Joe Donnelly (D-IN) who represents Elkhart, Indiana and sits on the House Financial Services Committee. During the meeting, a legislative exclusion from the SAFE Act for manufactured housing retailers and salespersons was discussed. Rep. Donnelly agreed to introduce legislation that would accomplish that goal. In addition, there was also discussion regarding an MH Lending Summit that would be held in Washington, DC later this year and hosted by FHA Commissioner Dave Stevens. Rep. Donnelly thought it was a good idea and agreed to participate in that event.
