Manufactured Homeowners Receive Free Energy Upgrades

In a program the energy company has conducted in other Washington state counties, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is offering free energy upgrades to residents of manufactured homes (MH) who have electric forced-air for their primary heat source around Kittitas County in the central part of the state. With up to a $500 value per home, and many manufactured homes with leaking HVAC systems, energy savings could be up to 30%. According to kimatv.com, procedures include sealing ductwork, installing energy-efficient shower heads and ENERGY STAR® qualified compact fluorescent light fixtures and replacing air filters. As MHProNews reported April 5, 2012, PSE has offered this service to MH residents in the past.
