Industry Production Increase Strengthen in March

MHARRWashington, D.C., May 5, 2014 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing production strengthened during March 2014.  Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 4,899 homes in March 2014, a 9.6% increase over the 4,467 HUD Code homes produced during March 2013.  Cumulative industry production for 2014 now totals 13,665 homes, a 6.2% increase over the 12,860 homes produced through March 2013.                                                                                                        

A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through March 2014  — with (cumulative), monthly, current year-to-date (2014) and prior year-to-date (2013) shipment totals per category as indicated — are:
