Industry Production Growth Continues In February 2015

MHARRWashington, D.C., April 3, 2015 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing industry production growth continued during February 2015. Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 4,803 homes in February 2015, a 10.1% increase over the 4,361 HUD Code homes produced during February 2014. February 2015 thus becomes the third consecutive month to see double-digit production growth on a percentage basis over the same period a year ago. Cumulative industry production for 2015 now totals 9,722 homes, a 10.9% increase over the 8,766 HUD Code homes produced over the same period in 2014.

A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through February 2015 — with cumulative, monthly, current year-to-date (2015) and prior year-to-date (2014) shipments per category as indicated — are:
