HUD announces new plan, REOs selling to public housing authorities in disaster areas

HUD logo 2RealEstateRama reports that U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan announced that HUD will be entering into an unprecedented purchase agreement to sell real estate owned properties (REO) to public housing authorities in the affected areas. By States and Counties, the locations this program will be available include: Alabama: Autauga, Baldwin, Barbour, Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Chilton, Clarke, Cleburne, Coffee, Colbert, Conecuh, Cullman, Dale, Elmore, Escambia, Etowah, Fayette, Geneva, Hale, Henry, Houston, Jackson, Jefferson, Lauderdale, Lee, Limestone, Lowndes, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Mobile, Montgomery, Morgan, Randolph, Russell, St. Clair, Shelby, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston. Kansas: Cherokee. Missouri: Jasper and Newton. Oklahoma: Ottawa.
