Fracking Oils the Mortgage Industry in North Dakota

In a survey that includes 41 million single-family mortgages across the country, accounting for 88 percent of all mortgages serviced, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) reports oil boom state North Dakota has the lowest foreclosure starts rate in the country for Q4 2013 at only 20 basis points. The state also has the lowest 30-day delinquency rate at 1.56 percent, according to nationalmortgagenews.com, the lowest 90-plus day delinquency rate at 54 basis points, and lowest of all the states in total overdues at 2.61 percent. With 55,566 mortgages currently serviced in the state, fewer than 1,400 are in any stage of delinquency. As MHProNews.com understands, a few allege fracking may be harmful to the environment, but it appears to be good for mortgages.
