Foreclosure Mediation Assistance in Connecticut and Congress

HousingWire.com says legislation that gives a homeowner the opportunity to go through a foreclosure mediation process before the default judgment is issued, passed out of the Connecticut Assembly’s banks committee.  The homeowner would be given sufficient time to seek mediation assistance.  Meanwhile, a bill introduced in Congress would provide HUD grants to pay for the mediation process.  It would also do outreach to inform troubled homeowners of the availability of mediation.
