Flooded factory home builder calls it quits

Pine_Grove_Manufactured_Homes_WNEPWNEP reports that Tropical Storm Lee caused flooding put a Pine Grove, PA factory home builder’s plant out of business.   Flood waters ruined almost everything at Pine Grove Manufactured Homes in Schuylkill County. Long-time employees said managers have told them the flood forced the factory to close. “They told us we’re not going to reopen. This facility is done,” said worker Ed Kimmel. “It’s sad all these years of working and now it’s gone. It went under. Everything below the mezzanine went under (water).” Bob Paulukonis works hard to clean up the mess left by eight feet of water. “Devastated. I have been here half my life and now it’s just gone. It’s just so sad,” Paulukonis said. Employees of Pine Grove Manufactured Homes have said they have been offered jobs at their sister company, Pleasant Valley Homes, which was unaffected by the flooding from Swatara Creek. “This is the fourth (flood) in seven years. Previously it was Agnes which hit everybody and previous one to that was 1936,” said Pine Grove Council President Ken Lehman.
