Firm Resumes Modular Home Production

RSI’s modular home factory in Mira Loma, California has begun production once again, as pent-up demand, rising home prices, low for sale inventory and the need for affordable housing hits southern CA. Acquiring land during the housing downturn, the company has 100 lots in Orange County, plus numerous in-fill lots in the San Fernando and San Diego Valley markets, as well as scattered sites in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The modular homes without the lot sell for $89,000 to $148,000, similar to what a major remodel might cost. To keep a lid on expenses, customization is not an option, but granite counter tops, R-21 walls, tankless water heaters, Energy Star appliances and cased dual pane windows are. As pe.com informs MHProNews, at full capacity the company expects to turn out components for four modular houses a day.
