FEMA Provides Manufactured Homes to Flood-damaged Wyoming Town

manufactured homes stored at Six Flags in New Jersey Russ Desantis The Record creditWhile some have called it a 100-year flood, there’s no question about the rushing waters in June that destroyed the majority of Lusk, a small town in east central Wyoming near the Nebraska border, as starherald informs MHProNews.

An auction of 100 donated items Sept. 18, 2015 raised $123,000 to help businesses and homeowners whose property was damaged, and contributions were also gained through a BBQ and dance, and the following day through a rodeo at the Niobrara County Fairgrounds.

While a local committee will decide how to apportion those funds, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has stepped in at the request of WY Gov. Matt Mead with 11 manufactured homes to house people until next December. The one, two and three-bedroom homes will provide stability while the occupants either look for new housing or repair their homes that were damaged. ##
