Dispute over Sale of Manufactured Home now in Court

When a resident of a manufactured home community in Muskegon, Michigan (MHC) injured herself and had to be moved to a nursing home, her niece sold the home to Timberline Mobile Home Sales for $9,000, which prompted a lawsuit by Nomad Mobile Home Park management for violating the “first right of refusal.” Cathy Bonters, with power-of-attorney for her aunt, claims initially she had an offer for $15,000 for the home from outside, but Nomad blocked that deal and said it would offer her $11,000 to keep the home in the community. As MHProNews.com has learned from fox17online.com, Nomad allegedly lowered the offer to $3,500, at which point Bonters sold it to Chris Bogner at Timberline. Nomad is suing Bonters for $25,000. A restraining order bars Bogner from moving the home to his business. The judge initially has to decide whether to lift the restraining order or not. ##
