Debate Continues over Former Land Lease Community Property

Updating a story MHProNews first published Sept. 5, 2012 regarding the closing of Hilltop Mobile Home Park in State College, Pennsylvania, and last covered May 23, 2013 when the owners settled with the attorney general over payment relocation expenses, the planning commission is considering new options for the property. The property was sold by Kenneth Mayes and his sister Sharon Mayes to Trinitas Ventures, who initially proposed R3 high density housing for the site. The planning commission turned down that request, so Trinitas is now proposing a mix of mostly R2 housing, which is low-to-moderate income housing, and a strip of R1, which is low density. Murmurs continue to return the land to manufactured housing, but centredaily.com reports the Mayes have a deal signed with Trinitas to purchase the land if it is rezoned. The meeting will be Tuesday night, Aug. 20, 2013.
