Dallas Suburb Cracks Down on MH Additions

From Texas, the Grapevine Courier reports that residents of older mobile homes are protesting a code crackdown of sorts. Residents of the Trailwood Mobile Home Estates told the reporter the city is threatening them with code violations in an attempt to shut down the community. City Community Services Director Scott Williams, however, told the paper the structures that have received warnings are unsafe or not permitted under city ordinances and that the city has no interest in closing the neighborhood. According to the report, most residents of the community rent their homes from the community owner. Residents say many of the additions now attracting the wrath of code enforcement officials have been there 20-30 years.
