County service shutoff to community abated as owners agree to pay $314,000 bill

Valley_Hills_MH_community_photo_credit_RealtyOhioRecordPub reports that Valley Hills Mobile Home Park owners will be paying $314,000 to the county water resources department that was in arrears. County officials threatened a cut off of service to the community located on Sandy Lake Road in Rootstown, OH. Buckeye Portfolio LLC of Burbank CA reportedly paid the last sewer bill in 2008, according to Jeff Lonzrick, who heads the county water resources department. Commissioners reportedly didn’t want to endanger residents, but threatened the shut off in order to collect. Portage County Treasurer Steve Shanafelt stated that the property owners delinquent property taxes “threw a wrench in their day,” adding the firm’s chief financial officer has agreed to bring the bill up to date, “but it will be a matter of time.” The Valley Hills land lease community has its own water supply, but uses county sewer services.
