Aussie Housing Minister Addresses MH Community Residents

Tim Mander, Minister for Housing and Public Works of Queensland, Australia, attended forums at two manufactured home communities (MHCs) to discuss the Newman government’s review of the Manufactured Homes Act 2003 and the Retirement Villages Act 1999. Member of Parliament (MP) Andrew Powell hosted Mr. Mander at Maleny Grove Retirement Village and Sunstone Gardens over 50s Village, according to viewnews.com.au. Noting comments from Queenslanders following the survey the government conducted last year of manufactured home owners, as MHProNews.com last reported Dec. 16, 2013, Mr. Mander said, “There are approximately 21,000 manufactured homes in parks (communities) across Queensland, many of them owned by retirees and seniors, so it is essential that the rights of all parties are clearly defined and understood.” ##
