Alberta Prices Continue to Climb

From Alberta, Canada comes news that despite a slower market, housing prices are on the rise. The Quesnel Cariboo Observer reports that the median value of the 115 single family homes sold in Quesnel 2010 was $181,000. In addition, 21 parcels of vacant land, 53 homes on acreage, 27 manufactured homes in communities and a further 26 on land were reported sold in 2010. The report indicates that in the 100 Mile House area, 351 properties worth $66.9 million were sold this year through MLS, down from 369 properties worth $76.3 million in 2009. Forty-two parcels of vacant land, 85 homes on acreage, 15 townhomes, 31 manufactured homes in communities and a further 38 manufactured homes on land were also sold in 2010.
