Affordable Modular Housing Replacing Blighted Homes

The Daily Herald reports that Columbia, Tennessee, has received funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) to replace blighted homes with modular housing.  The City Council approved $27,522 to buy four blighted properties and transfer ownership to Advent Community Development Corporation.  Advent will partner with the Columbia Housing and Redevelopment Corporation (CHRC) to demolish, maintain, and erect the new housing.  The city received $519,000 total to revitalize certain areas of the city with low to middle income modular housing.
