UMH Acquires Community in Oil Exploration Area

Freehold, New Jersey-based UMH Properties, Inc. has acquired manufactured home community (MHC) Rolling Hills Estates in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The 91 homesite community, situated on 34 acres, sold for $1,720,000, and brings the company’s holdings to 69 MHCs comprised of 12,900 sites, according to marketwatch.com. Samuel A. Landy, President, says, “We are pleased to announce the acquisition of this family community. This community is in close proximity to several of our other communities and will further enhance our substantial presence throughout the Marcellus and Utica shale region.” MHProNews understands UMH also owns a portfolio of REIT (real estate investment trust) securities.
