Historic Home and Manufactured Housing’s 4th of July

Zillow reports on a listing by Sotheby's International Realty on a home that reminds us of the 4th of July, because its first owner was a signer of the Declaration of Independence! The photos that follow will all be of that home.

Speaking of declaration of independence (temporary), the Obama Administration announced they would postpone the A.C.A's (ObamaCare) employer mandate until 2015, safely after the mid-term election. Will other delays in this act take place? Stay tuned…

Meanwhile on the Manufactured Housing front lines

According to official statistics compiled for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing production increased again during May 2013.These May 2013 stats indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 5,622 homes, an increase of 7.8% from the 5,211 HUD Code homes produced during May 2012.Cumulative 2013 industry production now totals23,795 homes, a 5.1% increase over the 22,640 homes produced over the same period in 2012.

More good news. Show Ways Unlimited, acting on behalf of the Midwest Manufactured Housing Federation, released its initial press release on the Louisville Manufactured Housing Show. You can find that detailed report, linked here.

All of this is continued GOOD NEWs for the industry.

The negotiations on the Senate side to get the companion for HR 1779 'dropped' continue. Sources tell us we are moving closer, as the effort is to line up consumer groups in support of a bill that will have Sherrod Brown as its Democratic sponsor, and that it will have bi-partisan support, as is the case on the House side.
