In my recent book – Corporate Disconnect – I discuss a number of the symptoms that impact employee performance, healthy growth and consistent profitability. The most common ones are;

  1. Poor employee retention of good employees
  2. Ineffective recruiting strategies or processes
  3. Inadequate or inappropriate feedback
  4. Communication breakdowns in any direction
  5. A lack of consistent accountability
  6. Inconsistency in policies, procedures or approaches
  7. A lack of proactive Leadership anywhere in the organization
  8. Counter productive supervision
  9. Management ability that is inconsistent, unpredictable or contradictory
  10. A negative or inconsistently motivational climate
  11. A lack of an effective training process, effectiveness, inspection and/or integration and accountability
  12. Top-down and bottom-up communication breakdowns
  13. Uncontrolled egos – anywhere
  14. Poor or outdated motivational strategies
  15. Corporate Culture breakdowns or a lack of congruence or consistency
  16. Personal agendas that override any or all corporate agendas
  17. General organizational dysfunction
  18. Poor tension management
  19. A lack of clear, communicated, consistent and accountable vision and
  20. Direction, a lack of clear, communicated and reinforced strategies
  21. Poor customer loyalty or retention
