{"id":672,"date":"2011-03-11T06:25:10","date_gmt":"2011-03-11T12:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.manufacturedhomepronews.com\/wordsofwisdom\/?p=672"},"modified":"2011-02-28T10:27:40","modified_gmt":"2011-02-28T16:27:40","slug":"thinking-about-it-or-doing-it","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.manufacturedhomepronews.com\/wordsofwisdom\/thinking-about-it-or-doing-it\/","title":{"rendered":"Thinking about it or doing it?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Weekly Success Tips<\/p>\n<p><i>&#8220;The purpose of learning is growth, and our minds, unlike our bodies, can continue growing as we continue to live.&#8221;<\/i><br \/>\n~ Addler<\/p>\n<p>Over the years I have asked myself the same question a number of times:<\/p>\n<p>Why can&#8217;t or don&#8217;t I do what I know I should about &#8211; whatever?<\/p>\n<p>There are so many people who want different outcomes in their life but who<br \/>\nseem to be unwilling or unable to take the necessary actions or steps to move<br \/>\nforward.  (I know, I have been one of those people on numerous occasions<br \/>\nduring my life.)<\/p>\n<p>Not that any of mine might relate to you, but the question remains &#8211; are there areas of<br \/>\nyour life where you are not taking positive action that you feel you should?<\/p>\n<p>Here are just a few to consider.<\/p>\n<p>Someone who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>is in a destructive relationship and wants to leave but doesn&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>wants to lose weight but can&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>wants to begin an exercise program but doesn&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>wants to start their own business but doesn&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>wants to change his\/her job or career but won&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>needs to improve some skill or attitude but doesn&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>has a destructive addiction and won&#8217;t\/can&#8217;t stop.<\/li>\n<li>wants to contact an old friend\/relative and rekindle a relationship and doesn&#8217;t.<\/li>\n<li>wants to start a savings plan for their future and doesn&#8217;t. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are hundred&#8217;s more actions that some of us &#8211; should, want to or<br \/>\nplan to take some day, but just never seem to get around to.  Why not?<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t tell you why you don&#8217;t or haven&#8217;t but I can tell you a few of the reasons (excuses) I have used as to why I haven&#8217;t:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Fear of the outcome &#8211; can I handle the new circumstances?<\/li>\n<li>There is plenty of time to do it later &#8211; some future point.<\/li>\n<li>I am waiting for Divine inspiration to tell me what to do and when.<\/li>\n<li>The transition could be painful.<\/li>\n<li>It is easier to not do it than do it.<\/li>\n<li>I just feel lazy.<\/li>\n<li>I need a healthy shot of discipline.<\/li>\n<li>I need a support system to begin.<\/li>\n<li>I don&#8217;t have the time.<\/li>\n<li>I don&#8217;t have the money.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>That&#8217;s enough, I am starting to get depressed.<\/p>\n<p>The point is: to ask yourself some simple questions and don&#8217;t stop asking until<br \/>\nyou get a legitimate answer.
