Whenever we publish a guest column, like <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span lang=\"zxx\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/blogs\/industryvoices\/?p=2179\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Jason Boehlert<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">&#8216;s on behalf of MHI, or other articles on\/by <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span lang=\"zxx\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/home\/featured-articles\/october-2014\/138-general-manufactured-housing-industry-topics\/8414-the-manufactured-housing-institute-mhi-holds-their-78th-annual-meeting\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">MHI that are featured, they are routinely well read<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">But that is the flip side of another common comment (complaint?). \u201c<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #b84700;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>MHI fails to communicate often or clearly on key things in a fashion that keeps the industry-at-large informed<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">.\u201d I&#8217;ve had MHI members \u2013 who aren&#8217;t dual MHARR members \u2013 say that <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span lang=\"zxx\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/latest-news-from-mharr\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">MHARR out-communicates MHI<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I frankly hear concerns from those within MHI&#8217;s ranks to exactly these and other points raised in this column. So these aren&#8217;t whines from the side-lines by the disgruntled, rather they are water-cooler, email, phone, dinner and bar talk by MHI members and beyond.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Concerns on some topics related to MHI are so hot that I think it prudent not to mention them specifically at this time. It&#8217;s shared because pros in our industry &#8211; or those keenly interested in MH and our future &#8211; often shake their heads in wonder. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">My private response is there are certainly good efforts like HR 1779\/S 1828; <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>MHI and the leadership deserve credit for getting more traction on these than any other legislation to date<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> I&#8217;m aware of to \u201creform the reform\u201d of Dodd-Frank. That&#8217;s not to be taken lightly! So let&#8217;s be fair. There are <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>successes.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">But there are state associations that &#8211; objectively speaking \u2013 are arguably doing a better job with often more limited resources than the national. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">To be more specific would be unfair, but to say those associations are routinely engaged with MHI makes the point I also make in private. <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Let&#8217;s not throw out the baby with the bath water. <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Whatever is missing or is wrong, let&#8217;s work together to fix and improve it.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>We have to<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i><b> improve what is good, and fix what is lacking.<\/b><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I&#8217;m not going to offer a specific set of suggestions or conclusions; that&#8217;s up the leadership and industry members like yourself.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">We as industry pros will make it through this <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span lang=\"zxx\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/blogs\/tonykovach\/?p=9118\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">rebirthing period<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, regardless if MHI makes changes or doesn&#8217;t. Our MH industry will grow, period and exclamation point! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Individual companies will continue to thrive (or not), based upon their corporate efforts and those of other associations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-US\" style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"LEFT\"><a
