Without parsing or endorsing the volume or its author, let me segue to the idea that in times like these, <em><strong>It takes an Industry <\/strong><\/em>for individual businesses or organizations to be successful.<\/p><div id=\"manuf-1946858282\" class=\"manuf-content manuf-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3870480136270376\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3870480136270376\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Some will take issue with that idea. But it&#39;s still America &#8211; so a difference in viewpoint &#8211; is fine. So Let me demonstrate this reality by sharing an example of <em><strong>It takes an Industry <\/strong><\/em>and how <em><strong>Pulling Together<\/strong><\/em> in this political and economic climate makes practical sense.<\/p>\n<p>There are lenders in our Industry who will be minimally impacted by Dodd-Frank and the pending Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulations. Meanwhile, other lenders could see as much as 50% of their chattel (home only, personal property) financing business negatively impacted.<\/p>\n<p>In a dog-eat-dog world, one might think&#8230;gee, those lenders who aren&#39;t harmed might just smile and let the ones at risk get eaten up. Much to the credit of the leadership of those non&mdash;impacted firms, <em><strong>they have helped on the Dodd-Frank task force at MHI, as has those impacted.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Why? Isn&#39;t business all about survival of the fittest and who can adapt?<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps in more normal times, but when the Industry is at such a low ebb, to paraphrase <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/home\/featured-articles\/august-2012\/155-financing\/3758-navigating-the-treacherous-waters-of-dodd-frank\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>D. J. Pendleton&#39;s<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>must-read article, we don&#39;t need another big wave that swamps more boats. This is therefor a critical example of <em><strong>It takes an Industry. <\/strong><\/em>These lenders are all still compete for business, but on some key issues through their association involvement, they are<em><strong> Pulling Together. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>At a trade show, you have manufacturers lined up side by side with competitors. Some might wonder, isn&#39;t that kind of backwards? Not at all, because by having multiple manufacturers &ndash; or other booth\/exhibitors for that matter &ndash; all in one place, you have a greater attraction for each individual company. This too is <em><strong>Pulling Together. <\/strong><\/em> Everyone in the mix &ndash; attendee, exhibitors, the associations involved &ndash; all benefit.<\/p>\n<p>Those magnificent miles of cars and shopping malls are still other examples of this <em><strong>Pulling Together<\/strong><\/em> idea at work.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to general information, the same is true. <em><strong>Pulling together<\/strong><\/em> takes place here every month on <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.MHProNews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>MHProNews.com<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/span>. This new site is geared for the public at large and for the manufactured housing home-owner and MHCommunity resident. We built the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.MHLivingNews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em><strong>MHLivingNews<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/span> site for many purposes, but key among them was to promote the industry and to give us a resource to connect and reaffirm the lifestyle decisions of some 20 million owners and residents of pre-and-post HUD Code manufactured housing. We need to get manufactured home owners to do what <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/home\/featured-articles\/august-2012\/156-general-manufactured-housing-industry-topics\/3739-dont-let-washington-overreach-and-overreaction-destroy-the-american-dream-of-home-ownership\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Tyler Craddock<\/strong><\/a> correctly points out in his article this month.<\/p>\n<p>But we also need to engage our home owners on a long term basis.<\/p>\n<p>There are thousands of website promoting this or that company in manufactured housing.
