Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 7,564 homes in July 2021, a 1% increase over the 7,485 new HUD Code homes produced during July 2020. MHI leaders, including Gooch, Goch, and others, have demonstrably misled the industry time and again. When a plan fails, such as Preserving Access to CrossMods, instead of changing course, they double and triple down on failure. That may benefit a few, but it harms the industry&#8217;s independents. It also harms affordable housing seekers by the millions. Thus, it also hurts taxpayers too.
