{"id":1959,"date":"2011-07-13T12:55:33","date_gmt":"2011-07-13T17:55:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/blogs\/tonykovach\/?p=1959"},"modified":"2011-07-13T12:55:33","modified_gmt":"2011-07-13T17:55:33","slug":"manufactured-housing-news-truth-or-consequences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.manufacturedhomepronews.com\/masthead\/manufactured-housing-news-truth-or-consequences\/","title":{"rendered":"Manufactured Housing News: Truth or Consequences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What is the truth? \u00a0What are consequences?\u00a0 We are not talking here about <em>Truth or Consequences NM<\/em>.\u00a0 We aren&#8217;t talking about some old TV game show by that name.\u00a0 Rather, how important is accurate information for your business?\u00a0 How willing are we as professionals to confront a truth that may bring consequences, for good or ill?<\/p><div id=\"manuf-1912591891\" class=\"manuf-content manuf-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3870480136270376\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3870480136270376\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>I spoke recently with an industry leader who shared an insightful comment.\u00a0 Let me paraphrase the words:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8216;People who know I am in the manufactured housing industry often say words to this effect: with the way the economy is, your industry must be booming.&#8217;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isn&#8217;t that interesting?\u00a0 We sell affordable homes, and people need housing affordability in America now, perhaps more than ever.<\/p>\n<p>So why aren&#8217;t we booming?<\/p>\n<p>Really.\u00a0 Think about that question.\u00a0 Why aren&#8217;t we in factory-built housing booming?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The U.S. Population continues to rise.<\/li>\n<li>Incomes are down.<\/li>\n<li>Our homes are more affordable, lower in cost, than conventional housing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let&#8217;s play a game of Truth or Consequences.\u00a0 A very real, professional game.<\/p>\n<p>Name whatever factor you&#8217;d like (I can imagine some of them already) that keeps us from selling more homes.\u00a0 Then think, how can that issue be resolved?\u00a0 So, let&#8217;s not just state a problem, but propose a workable solution, too.<\/p>\n<p>Why are some in our Industry profiting, even during these tough times?<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re squirming even a little, congratulations.
