He wants to buy MHC portfolios of 100M or more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/we-buy-communities\" target=\"_blank\">Green Courte Partners<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/resident-owned-communities-roc-usa\" target=\"_blank\">ROC USA<\/a> are among those who are actively looking to acquire more communities.<\/p>\n<p>Some are trimming down or getting out of the MH business.\u00a0 Meanwhile, others are buying up or buying in.<\/p>\n<p>Where are you positioning yourself?\u00a0 Are you and your firm planning to grow, or shrink?<\/p>\n<p>It is only logical that we try to amend Dodd-Frank so that it does not negatively impact on manufactured housing personal property (chattel) loan volumes.\u00a0 If you missed it, as we noted in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/blogs\/tonykovach\/dodd-frank-reality-check-what-is-its-true-impact-on-manufactured-housing\/\" target=\"_blank\">an earlier blog post<\/a>, those loans triggered by Dodd Frank will slice off lending under $78,000.\u00a0 This does not end all chattel MH loans, but it will impact enough where it will drive business further down if it isn&#8217;t stopped.<\/p>\n<p>Check in with your <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mhmarketingsalesmanagement.com\/associations-directory\" target=\"_blank\">association(s<\/a>) to see what they are doing.\u00a0 Be a part of the solution.<\/p>\n<p>But even for all of those who will sit on their hands and do nothing, things will continue to evolve.\u00a0 Some will plan beyond today and tomorrow to grow.\u00a0 Some may not plan to die, but they will.<\/p>\n<p>You and your company need parallel path strategies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>how can you work with others to modify Dodd-Frank (DF) enough this year to minimize its impact on MH lending?<\/li>\n<li>what will you do if DF goes into effect?\u00a0 How will DF impact your firm?\u00a0 Can you take steps to minimizes its effects?\u00a0 Can you take steps that will cause you to profit from its effects?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m told by leaders in various states that many owners and senior managers do not fully understand the impact of Dodd-Frank on their business.<\/p>\n<p>Many consumers and MH owners do not understand DF&#8217;s impact, either.
