the industry has a chance to turn around its fortunes regarding financing.\u00a0 Step 1 is to pass<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> S 682, the <\/span><\/span><\/strong><em><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act<\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">.\u00a0 It\u2019s companion bill, HR 650 has already passed the House on a bi-partisan vote.\u00a0 In the Senate, there is no chance for our bill to pass as a standalone bill because it will be vetoed.\u00a0 If however, it is attached to an appropriations bill that must pass, the President will have no choice but to sign it.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Let me say that again, if S 682 is passed as part of an appropriations bill, the President will sign it.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">We need <b>industry members to\u00a0<\/b>press for S 682 to be attached as a so-called policy rider.\u00a0 This is a normal process for getting legislation passed at the end of a session.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>Please Call or Fax Your Senators. <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #222222;\">Here is the message:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1.\u00a0We need S 682, the <\/span><\/span><\/span><em><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Preserving Access to Manufactured Housing Act,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> added as a policy rider to the Banking Appropriations Bill.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">2.\u00a0The bill HR 650 passed the House on a bi-partisan basis.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">3.\u00a0The bill addresses the overreach of the CFPB in applying Dodd-Frank to manufactured housing in a way it doesn\u2019t apply it to real estate agents.
