What Should We Call our Homes?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Hollywood,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">For forty plus years, the MH industry has tried to change the mobile home perception and sophisticate the MH product by changing the name.\u00a0 When business was sooo good, newbie MBA\u2019s came in and screwed \u00a0things up as that was their job which was to make changes and expose what is wrong.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">The new group along with industry insiders claimed that the name \u201cmobile home\u201d was not proper.\u00a0 They said the name is disgraceful and trashy like \u201ctrailer.\u201d Industry vets went along with new culture hires and agreed to the name change. The purchasers or those who live in the MH didn\u2019t care at the time and still don\u2019t.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">We changed the name to manufactured housing and after decades of pounding manufactured housing into the public\u2019s mind, most new MH purchasers and MH dwellers still used the term mobile home, so then we decided to change the name to just housing and that did not work as there was no identity to our product, so then some geniuses said to change to factory built homes and so on and so on \u2013 so many names.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2315\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2315\" style=\"width: 590px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"Its-EvolutionaryTrailerHouse-MobileHome-ManufacturedHome-modular-manufacturedhomelivingnews-comWB-660x330\" target=\"_blank\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" class=\"wp-image-2315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.manufacturedhomepronews.com\/industryvoices\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/Its-EvolutionaryTrailerHouse-MobileHome-ManufacturedHome-modular-manufacturedhomelivingnews-comWB-660x330-500x250.png\" alt=\"Its-EvolutionaryTrailerHouse-MobileHome-ManufacturedHome-modular-manufacturedhomelivingnews-comWB-660x330\" width=\"590\" height=\"295\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2315\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The image above was not part of Barry Cole&#8217;s <em>Letter to the Editor<\/em>, but the <a href=\"Its-EvolutionaryTrailerHouse-MobileHome-ManufacturedHome-modular-manufacturedhomelivingnews-comWB-660x330\" target=\"_blank\">graphic \u00a0is linked to an article which is related to this topic<\/a>.
