In 1964,  while doing research for my master’s thesis on Manufactured Housing  community design at the University of Illinois I came across this cartoon in an architecture cartoon book, ‘The Last Lath.’ <\/p>\n

It’s amazing how ahead of their times many cartoonists are.  In the 1970’s the Mobile Home Manufacturer’s Association  sponsored the study entitled ‘New Housing Systems,’ a similar idea of placing Mobile Home modules in egg crate type superstructures.<\/p>\n
